6/20/2023 0 Comments Sub zero laser cutter![]() I've got all the reactor rods (and a number of already spent rods) the reactor itself, etc. There are a few doors I can't get through because I don't have the propulsion gun, but I haven't found any that I could get around by going through vents or holes in the floor. I've been tearing the ship apart and I just can't find it. The wiki doesn't list it on the Mercury II page (which covers all parts of the wreck) but does mention it on the Nuclear Waste Disposal page. I've heard there is a nuclear waste disposal in the wreck of the Mercury II. ![]() And I still have a bunch of lockers unused.Įdit2" I could use some help. It only took one wall (two partitions) to clear out all of the standing lockers in the multipurpose room. It looks like it will work out well, I'm just working on aesthetics and ergonomics at this point.Įdit: OK, a little more efficient than I was expecting. I'll finish setting it up and maybe take another picture. So for each partition you place, you can have TWELVE lockers, giving you 360 slots. ![]() And they are wide enough for three lockers across, meaning six lockers. Even better, they are TALL, which means two rows of lockers. They work like free standing walls, which means you can place lockers on them. These are snap-to, which mean they naturally lend themselves to being more organized. When you get the large room, you also unlock the blueprint for 'large room partition' for a single titanium. I had asked about it earlier, and I'm sure others have figured this out as well, but since I figured it out on my own, I'll take credit for it, at least within my own game. One thing I've found is the BEST way of storing stuff. Instead of playing, I've been organizing my base, moving stuff from the cramped multipurpose room to the spacious large room. Here is my little Ritz Carlton away from home. Also considering making three or four of the storage modules for the seatruck, that may I can take things to and from other bases a lot easier. I could have laid out the racks a lot easier. Honestly, I should start over and make the large room my main room rather than the multi-purpose room. I already have a sweet tricked out bedroom, and all the space I need for plants. I have a sea monkey egg I've been wanting to hatch. I'm thinking of changing the room that had the bio reactor into an alien containment. I've found that the transmission from the thermal plant to the first repeater is pretty short, but between repeaters it is crazy long. Technically, I could probably scrap all the solar panels and JUST do thermal. Just switched my main base from bio reactor backup (if I use more than the solar panels can provide) to thermal plants. I want enough to have one in every piece of equipment, spares in all of my battery chargers, every vehicle outfitted with them, and vehicle spares in the power cell chargers (when I eventually find them, I suppose they are still in the game). I was thinking of making a pop-up base of just a bio-reactor and a scanner room to search for ion cubes. At this point, I'm just looking for ion cubes. Enough to craft a couple of 'must have' upgrades. In the mean time, I think I found a few of the last element I was missing. There is supposed to be one about the same place as all these nuclear rods and nuclear plant I scanned (being vague so as no spoilers) but if there is one, I missed it. Only thing holding me back right now is I can't fricking find a nuclear waste disposal blueprint. As long as you aren't running out of O2, you can just drop a new rod in where you arrive (assuming it isn't your main base). ![]() But also, if you only put one in at a time, worse case scenario is that the base loses power in 80 minutes. That means with four rods, you should get over 5 hours of base power. Each rod lasts 80 minutes at full power draw. For example, does a interior grow bed draw power?įor those that have used them to exclusively power their bases, how are they? I had a crazy idea of building a base with two of them. I'm not sure if the bases drain power when you aren't there if you don't have stuff like water purifiers running. I did notice that uraninite seems a lot more plentiful, so I suppose if you only put one rod in at a time, it will run for a while even if you aren't there. One thing I HAVEN'T played with is the nuclear reactor. The problem is that I've gotten a LOT of globules to power it, and I SUPPOSE I could use the trash can or just stick them somewhere. In fact, I could easily remove it at this point and add in some thermal now that I have the parts. I have a bioreactor at my main base, but it hasn't ever been tapped into. So that leaves two more options: nuclear and bioreactor. Thermal would be the second best, but that limits you to locations near an active volcanic vent. But if the base is too deep, they don't do anything. Renewables are always the best, so solar would always be the best, if you can get it. What is your most favorite method of powering bases, and why? ![]()
